Warcamp Marketplace map for the Cosmere RPG

So your party is about to be jumped in the warcamps on the Shattered Plains. You'll need a battle map to set the scene, and I'm here to help.

What were the warcamps?

The warcamps were a series of crater like military encampments that served as the base of operations for the Alethi forces during the War of Reckoning against the listener forces station in the center of the Shattered Plains.

There were 10 camps in total, operated by the 10 highprinces who committed to avenge the death of King Gavilar.

Initially these camps were strictly military in use. As the war evolved into a profitable game for the highprinces, the focus of the warcamps as more permanent cities began to take shape.

After the Battle of Narak, the warcamps evolved into an extension of the Kingdom of Alethkar, focused more on industry and supporting Alethi refugees, as well as farming to support the growing population at Urithiru.

How to use the map in your campaign?

The map provided below can be used in to represent any of the highprince's warcamps, at any time during the course of the books. Here are some key items for you to consider:

• With the built in grid (members can download non-grid versions), the total play area is 60ft x 60ft.
• There are three buildings that surround the market with west facing doorways.
• Windows are now shown on the map, but due to storms, they would be west facing. The eastern sides of the buildings would bare to protect against storms.
• The builds are soulcast and fairly uniform from the outside, but can serve different purposes.
• Types of buildings to consider are permanent storefronts, taverns, or potentially warehouses.
• The marketplace in the southeastern part of the map would be taken down and stowed away leading up to storms, leaving the area bare. There are bare versions of the maps available for members!

Map versions

Below you will find a VTT and high resolution version of the grid map.

What is a VTT map? VTT stands for Virtual TableTop, and the map versions made for them are lower resolution to save you in storage space. If you've never checked out a VTT for your campaign, I would recommend checking out Roll20. There is even a Cosmere RPG set of modules you can use to start your game.
